At Eight Bells, close to the Outeniqua mountains, the weather is influenced by the majestic mountain range, bringing misty spells. Occasional snow can dress the mountain peaks in winter creating clear, crisp days.
Lovely hot summers make sun block and hats necessary items for outdoor activities, but these inevitably give way to cool evenings – even in midsummer it is advisable to have some warmer clothing at hand.
Rain falls all year round, resulting in the vibrant greenness of the landscapes and forests and the exquisite display of fynbos flowers.
