Here at Eight Bells, we offer traditional, country-style cuisine for both day visitors and overnight hotel guests. Our two restaurant venues, The Tea Garden and The Oak Room, as well as our traditional pub offer unique dining experiences that reflect different aspects of country living.
The Tea Garden is a bistro-style restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and tea time treats under the beautiful trees in a relaxed outdoor setting. The Oak Room Restaurant is an elegant and formal dining room open every evening and specialises in traditional South African favourites. Our old-world style pub, The Bosun’s Whistle, is fully equipped with a variety of wines, beers, and spirits and is the perfect spot to end the evening.
The Eight Bells estate spans over 160 hectares — providing many outdoor recreational opportunities, such as walking or hiking, horseback riding, and birding!
In addition, we have a diverse range of both indoor and outdoor facilities to explore, including tennis, squash, a swimming pool, bowling green, recreation room, historic billiard room, lounge with a wood-burning fireplace, and kids lounge and playground. In-house guests have free access to all hotel facilities and outdoor recreation activities (horseback riding is additional).
Children are also well catered for with their own play park, dining room and play area. Donkey cart rides for the children take place once a day after breakfast.
The wide-open spaces, natural surroundings and absolute peace and tranquillity makes Eight Bells Mountain Inn the ideal honeymoon destination, or breakaway from the city.
